Shampooing
Shampooing is applying a cream, preferably using a special shampoo brush, starting at the stem of the heel and continuing round the edge of the shoe.
The cream, which contains lanolin (milk and water), acts in the same way as make-up cleansers. It brings out the colour of the leather and acts as a foundation for everyday wax polish.
If the shoes are very worn, the cream should be left to dry overnight so that it penetrates the leather. The following day the shoes should be shampooed again. Shoes should be shampooed every three weeks..
