Originally the sporting shoe for Chinese athletes, Warrior Footwear has seen its fair share of cultural revolution over its 75 year history. Recently introduced to the West this past year – thanks to the business acumen of two American exchange students in China, the brand looks to take hold of North American as it has the Chinese. Similar to Feiyue not only in design approach but also historic relevance, Warrior is one of those retro-inspired brands that fits extremely well with the look a younger, “alternative” crowd is in search of. These are pure casual comfort, in fact they’re probably best worn sans-socks.The unisex collection features four different models; all lightweight canvas uppers with flexible rubber soles designed with a very communist aesthetic. The shoes are simple, clean and made to handle anything you throw at it. While it’s not made of the highest quality materials and not the greatest looking shoe I’ve ever seen, it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not: it’s a cheap, yet versatile sneaker you could wear casually in most situations. I see it as a cross between Onitsuka Tiger, PF Flyers, Feiyue with a little hint of Chuck Taylors.http://limitedhype.com/2010/02/detailed-warrior-footwear/
