Bij Sartoria hebben ze er nu ook weer een aantal paar van staan. Mooie schoenen, lekker slank, maar iets minder fashion dan Santoni. Wel vrij duur, iets onder de 600e voor blake. Ze hebben een aantal mooie suedes.

Zijn de C&J handgrades geen blakes? Of heb ik de terminologie en maakwijzen nu helemaal door de war?

Dat zijn juist goodyears!

Ah. Ik dacht dus dat Goodyears met nog een laagje leer over het randgenaaide deel zoals deze:

Je kan het (volgens mij) altijd zien als je binnenin de schoen kijkt. Als je daar een stiknaad ziet is het een blake.

Hoeft niet altijd. Zie de Berluti's hieronder:

Here of superb Richelieux 6 eyelets with end flowered from Santoni, maintained méticuleusement by Alexis Boniface (1 port per week, including under the rain, during 3 years). On the photograph of the medium, a beautiful welt with seam small point. On the photograph of right-hand side, while looking in the shoe, horror, misfortune! it stick-is tied up!!!

One easily detects trickery while looking in the shoe: if, by looking in the shoe on the level of the plant of the foot, one sees a seam on the sides, it is that it is Rapid/Blake.

Though… one can better do to dissimulate the thing: here about Berluti in Blake assembly… dissimulated under a first of cleanliness which goes until the end of the shoe (some complain to feel the seam Rapide/Blake on the sides, “justifying” thus the first of cleanliness).

Here superb richelieux Berluti gone up in Rapid/Blake, but there, when one looks at inside, it has nothing there to see! A first of cleanliness comes to mask the Blake seam…

If the first of cleanliness goes until the bottom of the shoe, perhaps you will smell the points under the fine thickness of leather if you touch with the index.

Volgens mij wel, een beetje behouden model. Iets minder frivool dan de monkstraps van Santoni.

Bij Sartoria hebben ze een erg mooie monk staan. Het waard om eens te bekijken. Of anders maak ik wel een foto als ik er ben.

Ik zoek de suede monks van Mantellassi die ik tot ca. 2 jaar geleden nog regelmatig zag.

Als je het boek van Jort Kelder, Man en Pak, hebt staat er een plaatje op blz. 78.

Deze schoen heeft een wat vierkantige neus ipv de puntige die je bijv bij Santoni ziet. Ook de gesp zit wat hoger bij de wreef dan de andere monks. Ook is de gesp van een breedte ipv van zo'n 'driehoekig lap'.

Weet iemand waar ik deze nog kan krijgen?
