1) pity that I don't have any other photos of the giacca, to transmit the idea of ease
AND elegance. Maybe when mine is ready.... Let me repeat once again: the coat is not loose in any sense of the word. To some the cuffs may be wide, but you have to see the coat in reality to see that it is not... unless of course you want your coat cuff to be almost as narrow as your shirt cuff. Personally I like it to be about 28cm for coats that are worn with barrel cuffs.
2) The idea of "comfort" means that when you are wearing a coat, it feels as if you are wearing a sweater. Many companies try to achieve this by using very very fine wools, many which are quite fragile. A tailor can achive this same thing in heavier, more durable woolens by the cut, such as high armholes, drape in the shoulders, etc. Note: too tight a sleeve will invariably be uncomfortable, especially when you bend and flex your arm such as when you have a drink.
3) What you see here in Holland may not necessarily be what you will see from the same brand in Italy, the US, etc. It all depends on what model the store orders to fit the particular market. Here in Holland, Valentini and Incotex is "tight", a similar fit is found in Portugal where most Incotex are now made, in the US it is "loose" in Italy many stores sell a fit that is in between. Always keep this in mind.
...Ik ga er vanuit dat de waarheid in het midden ligt.
If you really want to see how elegant Italians dress, the best way to find out is to go there, visit the shows and operas, go to some of the parties, that will give a more complete picture than what you will find in magazines and the net.
